About The Role

About The Role

Are you passionate about supporting the mental health and well being of children and young people?

Join us as a Student Counsellor Placement with Compass Rise (Wakefield emotional health and wellbeing services), where you’ll gain rewarding and invaluable experience while completing your counselling qualification.

As a Student Counsellor Placement, you will work within education and community settings, providing one to one counselling to children and young people. You’ll have the amazing opportunity to see 1 to 3 young people per week, offering up to an hour of counselling over a 6 to 8 week period. Your availability will be discussed in advance, ensuring a flexible schedule that suits both you and the needs of the service.

Throughout your placement, you’ll be supported by a dedicated supervisor from Compass who will assist in appointment scheduling and communication with CYPF and schools. Additionally, you’ll participate in case management meetings every three weeks, ensuring you receive the guidance needed for successful interventions.

You’ll also have the autonomy to arrange your own clinical supervision externally, further developing your skills and knowledge. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact while advancing your professional development!

If this role sounds like something you'd like to be a part of, apply now!
