About The Role

The heart of this role is a simple belief that children and young people should help shape the services designed for them.

As an Engagement and Participation Worker, you will play a key role in bringing children & young people’s voices into the centre of a new Healthy Futures service. You will work closely with schools, communities and partners to help young people take active roles in promoting health and wellbeing in ways that feel meaningful, inclusive and empowering.

A focus of the role is developing and delivering the Peer Champion Ambassador programme across schools in Warwickshire. You will support pupils to design and lead campaigns, assemblies and activities that promote positive health messages and whole school approaches to wellbeing.

You will actively engage with vulnerable and underrepresented groups, ensuring participation opportunities are accessible and inclusive. Working alongside children, families and partners, you will help build trust, confidence and relationships that support genuine involvement and influence.

You will also gather feedback and evidence to understand impact and shape future development, sharing learning and good practice across the service. Your ideas, creativity and insight will help shape how engagement and participation are embedded from the very start.

This is a role for someone who believes in the power of listening, values collaboration and wants to help children and young people shape healthier futures.

About You

You believe that children and young people’s voices matter and should influence the services designed for them.

You are confident working directly with children, young people and families, and you know how to build trust and engagement in inclusive and respectful ways.

You bring energy, empathy and creativity to your work and enjoy supporting young people to take active roles within their schools and communities. You are organised, adaptable and comfortable working as part of a team, while building positive relationships with schools, communities and partners.

Essential criteria

  • At least one year of experience working with children, young people and families

  • Experience delivering engagement or participation activities

  • Experience engaging with community based or vulnerable groups

  • Ability to manage workload and adapt to changing priorities

  • Understanding the importance of gathering feedback and outcomes

  • Good IT skills

  • Car driver with daily access to a car or Access to Work

  • Ability to work flexibly to meet service needs

Desirable criteria
Experience of peer led programmes, youth voice or co production work would be beneficial but aren't dealbreakers.

If you want a role where your work helps children and young people feel heard and valued, this is a chance to help shape healthier futures.
