About The Role

Are you a school nurse who wants to make a difference in the lives of children, young people and families in Warwickshire?

We are a school nurse-led service that supports children, young people and families. We deliver key elements of the Healthy Child programme, working to identify and meet the health & wellbeing needs of the school-age population and give individuals the best possible start in life.

We have three offices bases in Nuneaton, Rugby and Stratford-Upon-Avon. You will work from a variety of settings including schools, partner agencies, children’s and family centres and homes, working flexibly and creatively to best engage and meet the diverse health needs of the school aged population.

About You

As School Nurse, you will provide leadership and direction to a skill mix team, delegating and co-ordinating services provided under the Healthy Child Programme. You will facilitate and deliver a range of assessments, brief interventions and proactive public health initiatives, working both independently and as part of a multiagency team around the family. Safeguarding will be an integral aspect of the role.

You will be an NMC registered nurse who holds a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nursing) qualification. You will have caseload management experience, along with previous experience of mentoring staff and/or supporting them through preceptorship. You will possess strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to delegate and
supervise staff, as well as the ability to recognise and escalate risk and contribute to control measures. You must possess a full UK driving licence and have access to your own transport.
