We have an exciting opportunity at Compass as part of the Connect for Health service. We are recruiting a registered SCPHN Nurse to join our Stratford, Rugby and Nuneaton based teams to become part of our mission to provide health and well-being services to school aged children across Warwickshire.

Connect for Health is an accessible, confidential and solution-focused service that successfully delivers key elements of the Healthy Child Programme. Our objective is to improve the health and well-being of school-aged children and young people in Warwickshire and reduce health inequalities. We are central to giving children the best start in life and the ability to reach their full potential.

The service delivers the Healthy Child Programme as well as preventative services and universal public health programmes within schools and community settings, using innovative and evidenced models of delivery in accordance with local need. Our teams are busy, high achieving and dynamic, consisting of committed and highly skilled professionals.

As a School Nurse (SCPHN), you will provide professional leadership and direction to a skill mix team to enable the efficient and effective delivery of our programme alongside our other services.

About You

We’re looking for a NMC registered nurse who holds a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) qualification. You will have experience with caseload management, along with mentoring other staff members and/or supporting individuals through a preceptorship.

We're looking for someone who will work creatively to meet each individuals needs and make every interaction meaningful. We want you to share our passion for promoting and protecting the health and well-being of every school-age child and young person, and exemplify our core values; integrity, valuing each individual, being solution-focused and maintaining consistency and reliability.

You will facilitate and deliver a range of assessments, brief interventions and proactive public health initiatives for your case load, to support each child in achieving positive health outcomes while working both independently and as part of a multi-agency team around the families. Safeguarding will be an integral aspect of the role and your commitment to this should be at the core of everything you do.

You will work from a variety of settings including schools, partner agencies, children’s and family centres and homes, while working flexibly and creatively to best engage and meet the diverse health needs of the school aged population.
