About The Role

Supporting young minds with impactful interventions – Join the team!

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the mental health and well-being of children and young people? If so, this is the perfect role for you!

As an Education Mental Health Practitioner, you’ll play a pivotal role in improving access to high-quality mental health support within educational settings. Guided by expert supervision, you’ll deliver evidence-based interventions to children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs, empowering them to thrive in their learning and personal lives.

Your role will involve assessing and delivering tailored interventions directly in schools while collaborating with children, young people, families, and educational staff to co-create effective support plans. You’ll provide guidance and signposting to help schools build a robust Whole School Approach to mental health, ensuring every step aligns with safeguarding and risk management protocols.

This is more than a job; it’s an opportunity to build transformative relationships with schools, families, and multi-agency teams, shaping the mental health landscape of education. With a commitment to ongoing training and development, you’ll continually grow in your role while staying at the forefront of evidence-based strategies.

Join us and become part of a team that champions compassion, resilience, and innovation. Together, we’ll create a brighter, healthier future for our young people.

About You

We are looking for a passionate, driven professional ready to make a meaningful impact on the mental health and well-being of children and young people (CYP). You bring expertise, empathy, and enthusiasm to this vital role.

  • A track record of working with children, young people, and their families in educational or healthcare settings.
  • Effective communication, time management, and organisational skills to navigate multi-agency collaboration effectively.
  • Access to your own transport to enable you to commute efficiently between community locations.

Your ability to assess mental health needs, manage risk, and deliver evidence-based interventions will be crucial to this role.

If you have experience with vulnerable groups, such as looked-after children or those facing social and emotional challenges, we’d love to hear from you. We'd also like to receive applications from those who are a Mental Health nurse with Young Person experience, Qualified Social Worker with Mental Health experience or counsellor.

You’ll share our commitment to professional development and embody Compass’ values.
