About The Role

Compass is thrilled to announce our partnership in Birmingham to launch further Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) in schools! We’re on a mission to uplift the emotional health and wellbeing of children and young people across the city, this time in West/North Birmingham (Handsworth, Lozells, Aston, Ladywood, Erdington). If you’re passionate about making a difference and delivering impactful, evidence-based early interventions, we want to hear from you!

As a School Practitioner in our dynamic MHST, you’ll play a vital role in shaping our services, collaborating with schools, families, and communities. This is your chance to advance your career in mental health support while making a meaningful impact on the lives of young people.

You’ll work with a dedicated team to enhance our MHST initiatives, fostering strong partnerships and driving the implementation of effective mental health services aligned with the national framework. Plus, we offer exciting opportunities for further training, including a Post Graduate Certificate in clinical supervision!

About You

Are you a passionate and dedicated mental health professional ready to make a difference? We’re seeking someone with a core professional qualification (e.g., EMHP, PMHW, or equivalent) and a commitment to continuous professional development. Your experience in therapeutic work with children and young people (at least 2 years) is essential, along with a strong background in risk assessment, clinical supervision, and engaging families.

You’re a natural leader, skilled in delegating tasks and supporting your team. Your experience in managing changing priorities and organising team duties will help you thrive in the role. With excellent communication skills, you can relate to children and young people, ensuring they feel understood and valued.

A flexible and solution-focused approach is key, as is a commitment to evidence-based practice and data collection. Your IT proficiency will support your work in this innovative setting, and your strong personal values will guide your interactions.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds, emphasizing diversity and inclusivity in our workforce. You’ll need a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle, as you’ll be working in various communities and educational settings.

About Us

We’re an innovative mental health service dedicated to empowering young people through early intervention and community-centred support. As part of the MHST Trailblazer Programme, we’re committed to addressing our community’s mental health needs and creating lasting, positive impact.

Our team includes professionals from diverse backgrounds, each bringing unique skills and perspectives. We know that an inclusive workforce enriches our service and strengthens the quality of care we deliver.

We’re committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, welcoming applicants of every gender, race, age, ability, and background. Our supportive environment encourages growth and development, ensuring each team member feels valued.

Our goal is to build a team that reflects the vibrant communities we serve. Together, we’re transforming mental health support for the next generation. If you’re ready to make a difference, we'd love to hear from you!
