About The Role

About the Role

Are you ready to make a real difference in the emotional wellbeing of families and young people?

This role is a real opportunity to help shape the services we provide with children, young people, families and educational settings and to develop your career in mental health support to children, young people and families.

Managing a dedicated caseload, you’ll deliver evidence-based, family-focused interventions, creating personalised care that transforms lives.

If you’re passionate about making a meaningful impact and eager to bring your expertise to both educational settings and the wider community, we’d love to hear from you.

About the team

Compass Changing Lives provides prevention and early intervention emotional wellbeing and mental health support to Children, Young People and Families (CYPFs) across Derby & Derbyshire.

About You

About the candidate here...

We’re looking for someone with qualifications or equivalent experience in youth work, psychology, social care, or counselling (such as a Diploma or NVQ Level 4) and at least two years of therapeutic experience in this field.

Having knowledge of safeguarding policies, effective communication skills, and a proactive, adaptable approach are key. You’ll be confident in engaging with families and caregivers, working within a multi-skilled team.

Mental Health First Aid or Triple P training would be a bonus!

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring excellent time management, IT skills, and the ability to handle changing priorities with a solution-focused mindset.

You’ll be comfortable with monitoring outcomes, understanding the importance of data collection, and contributing to risk management. With a positive attitude, a team-player mentality, and a commitment to ongoing professional development, you’ll feel at home in our vibrant and supportive environment.

A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are required, as well as flexibility to work year-round to meet the needs of the families and communities we serve.
