About The Role

Our Assistant Education Mental Health Practitioner will work within a team to deliver whole school approach activities in schools across Barnsley. This includes delivering workshops and assemblies designed around supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in Barnsley.

Compass Be Mental Health Support Teams (MHST’s) and Specialist Team ensure Children and Young People (CYP) access the right help, at the right time, in the right setting, MHST’s will remove duplication and avoid CYP/families being ‘bounced’ in between services.

Compass has a successful track record in early intervention health and wellbeing services for children and young people. We use a wide range of creative and dynamic methods of engagement, including digital interventions, across community and educational settings.

Adopting a values-based approach is at the heart of what we do; through collaboration and coproduction with stakeholders our services continually evolve, directing resources based on evidenced need. About You

The successful candidate will have had a minimum of one year post qualification experience working with children, young people and families. They will have an understanding of mental health and emotional wellbeing issues that affect children, and an understanding of child development and behaviours. 
 
The post holder will be confident in delivering workshops in classroom and assembly settings, and also able to build strong working relationships in education settings.
