About The Role

Ready to lead, inspire, and make a lasting difference in young people’s mental health?

As a Supervising Practitioner, you’ll play a pivotal role in improving the emotional wellbeing of children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs. Working across education settings, you’ll deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, support the implementation of Whole School Approaches, and build the confidence of school staff through consultation, training and strategic collaboration.

At the same time, you’ll provide clinical supervision and guidance to Educational Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) and trainees, helping to nurture their development while ensuring safe, effective practice. You’ll be central to our efforts to raise standards, strengthen clinical governance, and create an environment where reflective practice thrives.

With your expertise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and your passion for system-wide impact, you’ll work closely with a skilled, values-led team committed to early intervention and collaborative care.

If you’re excited by the opportunity to shape services, support practitioners, and empower young people to thrive—this is where your leadership belongs.

About You

You’re passionate about shaping services that truly make a difference—and you’ve got the experience, insight, and drive to lead by example. You understand the pressures facing young people today and know how to guide both individuals and teams towards better mental health outcomes.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • A nationally recognised qualification in mental health or a related field (e.g. EMHP, CWP, nursing, psychotherapy, social work)
  • Eligibility to practise under a governing body such as BABCP or NMC
  • At least two years’ experience delivering therapeutic interventions for children and young people
  • A Postgraduate Certificate in supervision or management, or willingness to undertake it
  • Strong knowledge of CBT-informed approaches and experience providing clinical supervision
  • Confidence in risk assessment, safeguarding and working across agencies
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work in education or community settings with a flexible, solution-focused mindset
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (or equivalent)

Experience in mentorship, leadership within children’s services, or working in a skill-mixed team is a real asset. A postgraduate therapeutic qualification—especially in low-intensity CBT—is highly valued.
