About The Role

Are you ready to use your skills not just to care, but to lead, mentor and shape the future of mental health support in education?

This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in delivering the single point of access for Children and Young People Emotional Health and Wellbeing Services in Wakefield, working in partnership with CAMHS. You will ensure children, young people and families receive the right support, at the right time, in the right setting.

You will carry out comprehensive assessments, respond thoughtfully to risk and make confident, evidence informed decisions that keep the voice of the child at the centre. You will provide advice, guidance and targeted interventions in one to one, group, virtual and face to face settings, and ensure clear and supportive pathways into specialist services where this is needed.

Alongside clinical work, you will play a key leadership role within Compass Rise. You will provide supervision and peer support to Emotional Wellbeing Practitioners, contribute to quality assurance and promote continuous improvement. Safeguarding is central to this role and you will actively contribute to multi agency processes to protect and promote welfare.

We are offering this role as a 2 year fixed term contract or secondment opportunity based in a newly created Single Point of Contact with Wakefield CAMHS. You will be based 2 days in CAMHS and 1 day completing supervision within Compass.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings together clinical expertise, leadership skills and a passion for supporting children and young people. To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • A recognised Education Mental Health Practitioner or Children`s Wellbeing Practitioner qualification
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Supervision or willingness to undertake this
  • Experience of working therapeutically with children and young people in education or community settings
  • Competence in delivering low intensity interventions for mild to moderate needs
  • Experience of clinical supervision or line management
  • Strong skills in risk assessment, safeguarding and multi agency collaboration
  • Ability to travel across Wakefield and work flexibly

It would be great if you also bring experience of leading projects, mentoring colleagues or delivering training, but what matters most is that you are values led, compassionate and resilient.

This is your chance to lead with purpose, support with compassion and make your mark where it matters most. Sounds like you? If it does, we’d love to see you apply.
